However there are many instances where the stump will need to be removed, perhaps to make way for that new extension, to facilitate the replanting of another tree, or maybe just to make cutting the grass easier. At RM Services, we can save you time and hassle by using specialist stump grinding equipment to remove the stump with minimal ground disturbance. Our machines can remove stumps to approximately 12″ below ground level if required, as well as any exposed surface roots that are causing a nuisance.

Removal of arisings and reinstatement
All grindings/chippings from the stump are mixed with soil during the grinding process. The resulting mulch can be backfilled into the hole where the stump once was, or can be used elsewhere around the garden. Backfilling the hole is the cheapest option. We recommend backfilling to a point where there is a slight mound, otherwise the mulch will break down over time leaving a dip where the stump previously was. In the case of a diseased tree being removed it may be necessary to remove all spoil from site following the FC Bio-security guidelines. Following excavation of the area the remaining hole can then be filled with a suitable substrate, and then replanted or turfed/seeded as per agreed specification.
